Tripp Genealogy & History
Tripp is an English surname, from the Old French and Middle English trippere, referring to someone who tripped, particularly as a loose reference to a professional dancer. It could also be from the Old French tripe, referring to a meat merchant, particularly one who sold sausages as well. Tripp family history starts with Hugh Tripp, who was noted in the Hundred Rolls of Wiltshire in 1373.
