  1. 1.  Melvin S. Redfield was born on 18 Dec 1845 in LeRoy, Genesee Co., NY.

    Notes:


    At age ten he went to Chicago and returned to LeRoy in 1859. At age 15 1/2 he enlisted in Co. "I", 6th U.S. Cavalry. He was on Sheridan's staff as dispatch bearer. He was discharged after three years. He bought Michigan Center Flouring Mill which burned in 1893. He became general manager of Jackson Ice Company.

    Melvin married Lovina E. Moore on 10 Jan 1866 in Batavia, Genesee, New York, USA. Lovina was born on 14 Dec 1848 in LeRoy, Genesee Co., NY. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
