Donald George Tripp My First Cousin

Loyal Kitchen had just paid me three nickels, to haul water for their thrashing run. I am on my pony, Spot, with a one gallon jug of water hanging from each side of the saddle horn. Loyal was teasing me about something. He was always teasing somomeone. It was fun though. The teasing I mean, especially from Loyal or Georgie Kitchen. They had a way, about them that made you feel--like-- important, and you are doing something worthwhile. Donald, from these two uncles of your's, yoou have inherited that trait. Don't ever lose it! You are a joy to this whole Tripp Family. Every newcomer has to learn that Donald George Tripp is our "official initiator". We love you for it! Every family has to have someone to keep them lighne to keep them light hearted! And you keep us light hearted, even as our family slowly, but surely slip away into the "Forever". I do not get to spend as much time with the family as I would like, but I have a good memory! With Love Herman William Tripp--Remembering----

I am sending you a booklet that my two sisters have insisted that I write. It is about some of the stories that they have heard me tell from time to time. These stories are my memory of much data that we have discovered during the last 20 years family research during our travels around the country. The booklet starts off with the story of Zacheus Lester Tripp. I believe that he saved the family from total destruction during the dark days of pioneering in the mid 1800's. After Zacheus, I lead off with your eighth Great Grandfather John Tripp, the Founder's story. Peleg Tripp, son of John Tripp is next, and on down to you and I. I have filled the pages with little stories that I remember about our immediate family. I hope you, as well as other members of our family will write down various incidents of your past, so that our descendants can have insight into our lives, while we lived them, here on earth.
