    Notes:

Eliphalet Eddy is my 3rd Counsin, five times removed. He was a Revolutionary War soldier. He resided in Glocester, Rhode Island, until he moved to Cranston by Noeember 1783. When he came to Cranston he was ordered to produce a certificate showing his last place of residence. (This practice derived from the desire of towns to be not responsible for the support of disabled people.) He failed to do so, and on 20 August 1803, when he was old and had lost his mind, he was ordered to leave and return to Glocester because he had not legally been admitted to Cranston and was still a legal resident of Glocester, Rhode Island.
