• Notes

  Edward Bobbit was an original settler in Taunton and took land in the South Purchase, now Berkley. During the Indian War he was obliged to flee to the block house in Taunton and was killed by Indians while returning to his farm. He married, 7 July 1654, Sarah, daughter of Miles Tarne of Boston, Mass.
