  	Eleanor Billington came on the Mayflower with her husband John Billington, and sons John and Francis. She was one of only four women to survive to the time of the First Thanksgiving in the autumn of 1621.

  	Her family had a reputation of being ill-behaved, and just six years after her husband was executed for murder, she herself was sentenced to sit in the stock and be whipped for a slander against John Doane.
  _ORIG	It is possible that Elinor was born Elinor Longland, sister of Francis Longland, as the Billington's son Francis was included in a three-life lease with Francis Longland and a nephew of Francis Longland for land in the manor of Spalding in Lincolnshire.
