  In 1880 Allie Tyson was living with her son Henry Tripp. Additional information: 30 acres improved, 86 unimproved-$120 value of farm, $5 of farm tools. 2 milk cows, 10 other cattle, 35 sheep, 25 hogs, value of livestock $95, 100 bushels of Indian corn, 1/8 bale of cotton, 40 lbs. of wool, 10 bushels of peas and beans, 50 bushels of sweet potatoes. $71 worth of livestock slaughtered. $8 of homemade articles More about Joshua Tripp, Senior: 1. In 1850, he was in Griffin's District Pitt County North Carolina. 2. Died intestate; Bryant Tripp administrator; $500 Caleb B. Tripp, security. Occupation: 1850, Farmer (Source 1850 Census) from Janus Tripp Gurganus. Remarried to a Tyson who died before 1850. In 1880 census, Allie Tyson was living with her son William Henry Tripp (1880 census) and is shown to be 76 years old. Note: The ages of the oldest children suggest the possibility that Allie was a second wife. That might explain why only the younger, William Henry, moved with Allie by 1850. In the Tyson home in the 1850 census, William Henry was listed as a Tyson, but other records show him to have the surname Tripp.
