Notes - Bock: He was given as the son of Sarah Sweet (Dean; Harding) and of Sarah Dow by Valentine, but was listed in William Spencer's will between Samuel and Ruth. he was said to have been a sailor with no record preserved. Harding claimed him as husband of Sarah Slocum, married 1756. Sarah born 11-5-1738; died Luzerne County Pennsylvania 10-18-1808. Children (Harding):1. Joseph. 2. Jonathan. 3. William. 4. Phebe. 5. Mary married 8-21-1764 Amos Harding. 6. Lucinda. 7. James.
[Note: If Harding information is true, William probably issue of earlier wife, which seems illogical in view of his mention in Spencer will]. (Dean 10; Harding 35; Valentine 89; Ahnentafal from Carl Boyer; Audrey C. Baker Rider, DOB as abt 1735 and DOM as 1756). Herman
