Notes - He remained in 1854 to New York City and engaged in the carting business for the firm of Earle and Company. He later worked in Cohoes, Albany County New York in the grocery and feed business, then to Rochester in the grain business. Business reversals after the Civil War caused him considerable losses and he returned to NYC in the grain business as Tripp and Clark. Later he built the "Tripp Elevator" and was in business with C Captain I Wickes and Alexander Bonnell. He was a director of the home bank of New York, a member of the Produce Exchange.
In 1886 he removed to Poughkeepsie New York. (Vincent Fam 35,63; will; Commemorative Biographical Record of Dutchess County New York [Chicago 1897},68, DOM as 1848; Randall, Joseph Tripp 19 {different line}, dob as 21 ).
