    • Samuel Gilbert Tripp enlisted September 21 1861 in the army in New York, was discarged 28 January 1862 at Chicago, Illinois. He enrolled March 1, 1862 in Company "D", 56 Michigan Fusilliers and was discharged 20 Janary 1863 at New Bern, North Carolina. He resided at Wakshima, Kalamazoo County, Michigan at Robinson Ottawa County, Michigan and at Grand Haven, Michigan. He was 5 foot 6inches tall. He and Amelia Owen were married by Reverend Otis L. Otis, witnessed by George Falling and Lettie Richards. Amelia was from Arcadia, New York now called East Newark, New York.
