    • Laura Pitts graduated from the Andrews School, Willoughby, Ohio (1975). She graduated from the Culinary Institute of America, In 1977, with an AOS degree. After several jobs in Pennsylvania and Florida, she was summonned by her father to Troy, N New York about Labor Day of 1980. He announced that he had founded a catering firm by the name of Pits and Pitts... Caterers, and she was to be the other Pitts. He had booked their first function - a catering job for 1300 people, it was the Galla Re-Opening of the famed Troy Savings BAnk Music Hall and featured Ella Fitzgerald. Laura went on to distinguish herelf in the catering history of the Capital District, booking events from very small dinner parties to major undertakings such as her association with Merchant and Ivory Productions. Merchant and Ivory used the Troy Music Hall for their movie "The Bostonians," starring Vanessa Redgrave and Christipher Reeves. Pitts and Pitts did all of the catering for the production company and stars. In early 1987, following the death of her father, Pits and Pitts was quietly closed after it was discovered that Laura was pregnant. Laura returned to the Culinary Instiute of Amreica as a member of the First Class of the Bachelor of Professional Studies program, and graduated in December of 1995. In June of 1996, Laura assumed the duties of Director of Catering at Davidson College, a small Presbyterian College in Davidson, North Carolina ( North of Charlotte).
