  • Notes

    • In interview by Tom with Minnie Day, 1965: (with comments added) Stories about parents, Ann Ingalls Day, etc. Both Day families moved to Edgerton, Pipestone Co., MN, about 1877, along with Swains (Harriet Ingalls Day's dau Edith m Rev Carl Swaiain). George Straw met Dora May Turner in Edgerton when he went to visit cousin Days there (although, or maybe because, Sardis Turner family had also lived in Saratoga briefly when Dora May quite young). He apparently remained there, married and had first child, Alice, in Edgerton before moving to St. Paul.

Listed in 1865 census for Saratoga, Winona Co., MN.; also 1875, at age 16, and in US census of 1870, but not listed with family in 1880 US census for Saratoga Twp. Family notes say marriage in Edgerton MN performed by a Rev. Davis. Died May 11, 1918, a suicide, in St. Paul, MN. Buried in Oakland Cemetery, lot 10, block 3, in the city of St. Paul, on property owned by the Masons.
