    • William Calvin Tripp enlisted in Company B, 445th Tennessee Infantry Regiment, CSA 14 November 1862 at Estill Springs, Tennessee; he was wounded at Chickamauga 19 September 1863; in hospital at Ringold, Georgia, until 1864; taken prisoner 1 april 1865 at Hatcher's Run and remained prisoner of war at Point Lookout, Maryland, until released 10 June 1865 upon swearing oath of allegiance to the United States; he died in Washington DC on his way home from Point Lookout; he is buried at Arlington National Cemetery near the Confederate Monument; William Calvin Tripp was described as having a light complexion, brown hair, blue eyes, and being five feet and eight inches tall.
