Bradford Hewlett Tripp was the son of Stephen Tripp, son of Peleg Tripp, son of Othneil Tripp, son of John Tripp, son of John Tripp Junior, son of John Tripp the Founder. He was married to Emma Engle in Wisconsin by Reverend Edwin S. Bunce. He enrolled on August 19 1861 Lancaster, Grant County, Wisconsin Company "F", Seventh Wisconsin Infantry, discharged September 1 1864 near Petersburg, Virginia. A Private Bill, Number 147, S.8628 in 1909 gave him an increase in his disability pension to $30\month. Witnesses to his pension requests included Catherine Engle (born May 11, 1843; lived Modesto, California in 1928); Charles Engle(of Canton, Lincoln County South Dakota in 1899); and Ella Braithwaite (born September 29, 1859; of Rounup, Montana in 1928). After the war Bradford worked as a carpenter, then in 1875 became a minister in the Methodist Episcopal Church. He was 6 feet tall. From 1865 to 1869 he lived in Wisconsin; from 1869 to 1873 in Huntsville, Alabamaa. From 1873 to 1885 in Jamesport, Missouri; then to Lodi, Clay County South Dakota till 1892; thence to Lamar, Missouri untill 1896 when he went to Marcus, Cherokee County Iowa. In 1909 he went to Gallatin Missouri and in October 1920 to Windom, Cottonwood County Minnesota, where lived in 1923. He once lived in Clyde, Banner County Nebraska and in 1906 and 1908 his mailing address was Canton, South Dakota. He died at Gallatin, Daviess County Missouri and buried in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Jamesport, Missouri.
