Notes - !1)"There was a family bible in the inventory" Chas Quick says the probate record of his belongings, 1883, states. There was such in his father Jonathan's belongings, in 1820. Same bible? A search today for such could center on Robert, who stayed in Tyre. 1a)BENAJAH, AKA BENNIGER. (Earlier I kept two family groups for Benajah and Benniger, then concluded THEY ARE THE SAME PERSONS. THEIR CHILDREN MATCH TOO WELL TO BE A COINCIDENCE. I HAD BEEN PRONOUNCING BENAJAH "BEN-AHJ-UH" WHICH WAS DIFFERENT-SOUNDING FROM "BEN-I-JER". BUT IF YOU PRONOUNCE BENAJAH AS "BEN-i-ja" WITH THE EMPHASIS ON "BEN", THEN IT SOUNDS VIRTUALLY THE SAME AS "BEN-I-JER". THEREFORE, I AM MERGING THE TWO FAMILIES INTO ONE, AND NAMING THE FATHER "BENAJAH"..)
2)Benajah fits ONLY as a son of Jonathan. Not for James(RIN551) not for William (RIN642). (Its possible Thomas (RIN669) is his father, but Thomas is not in Wash Co in 1800 or Seneca Co in 1810. THEREFORE, BY LOGIC, I PLACE HIM AS A CHILILD OF JONATHAN'S. OTHER NOTES:
3)Petition for Probate, 1883, gives death date, living children, wife: "wife, Mary; children--Asa of arkansas;June Crump of Sheboygan, Mich; Samuel of Kalamazoo; John W. of Warren, Pa; Robert b 1836, of Tyre."
4))A Death record gives Benajah F. Tripp, d 12/5/1850, aged 22, (buried) 0Dutch Reformed Church cemetery, who I assign as his child.
5)1830 CENSUS "Benniger" gives him 3 sons, 2 daughters, an extra adult male aged 30-40, perhaps an older brother o or brother-in-law, aged about 35; and his wife, aged 20 to 30.
6)1840 Census gives: BENAJAH 1 2 0 1 0 0 1 0 1 - 1 1 1 1 0 1.
7)1850 Census gives: "BENAJAH 53, farmer 3600 acres, J.M. 48, M.K. 24/F; B.J. 22/M; R.H. 20/M; E.J. 19/F; S.M. 15/M/M; W.J. 7/M; born N.Y." These names match up perfectly with the Petition, above. I wonder if Benajah had some reason not to trust the enumerater, and gave initials rather than names?

9)History of Seneca County, NY, 1876, p. 168, gives his date of settlement as 1806, his post office address as Magee's Corners, business "Farmer and Stock Raiser", spells his name "Benajer", PLT ARCHIVES V17.
10)Russ Quimby, 916-366-1869, is a descendent of Benajah: Russell Wayne Quimby 9968 Lincoln Village Drive Sacramento, California 95827
