  References: Bock: He was a private in Captain Gorton's Company and Colonel lippits Regiment Sept 1776 ( Arnold 12:277( and Colonel John Topham's Regiment ( Randall ). (RI IGI; Randall, James Tripp 12,19; DAR Patriots Index 688; 1777 military census in RI ROOTS shows Robert Tripp in West Greenwich, 16-50, able to bear arms). From 1781-1783 Robert was a member pf Colonel Edward Jessop's Corp of Loyal Rangers. By 1783 Robert and his wife and child were at the Riviere du Chene Loyalist settlement in Canada.
