Frances Esther Tripp Conyers My First Cousin
You were not only my First Cousin, you were the first one that I knew as my cousin. I am still jealous of you, because Santa Clause always came to your place, before He came to our place. What kind of pull did you have anyway? I was not jealouus of the fact that you washed dishes at 4 years of age though! I was at least 21 years of age before I washed my first dish. I did not know that boys ever washed dishes. Of course I had 3 sisters! I never did any house work and of course I neveer saw them outside either. That is the way it was in the old days, I guess. When I Married Clara, all that changed. She wanted to spend most of her time helping me, so we did a lot of the house work together (not all of it). I especially remember the Sunday's that the whole Tripp family spent at your place. It seems that your place was the favorite place to meet. Do you remember the time that someone fell into the slop barrel, out by the water tank? We had to pull whoever it wit was out! What a mess. I can still remember the way he or she smelled on the way out! I think it was Donald. I am glad that we are a close knit family. Even though I have not been around much, I feel close to every member of our familyy! With Love Herman William Tripp--Remembering---- I am sending you a booklet that has an accumulation of "stories" from the past. The first story is about Zacheus Lester Tripp and his effort to save what was left of our family to be. If it were not for Zacheus, you and I would never have been here! As far as I am concerned he was the greatest hero among many heroes amongst our ancestors. He needs to be remembered. The booklet then follows with other sttories, starting with John the Founder, then each succeeding grandfather down to you and I. The book is full of things I have remembered about myself and our immediate family. I think that it would be smart if all of us did the same, and recorded for our children, and our childrens children, episodes that no one will know about otherwise. I have sent excerpts from the computer to other members of our family that show them their relationship with our ancestors. You of course hav have all of that in your computer. My goal is to do much more than I have done so far. I hope I live long enough to finish the job. I am glad that you have a computer and are recording what I have, plus what you have! Together, maybe we will get a lot done for the next generations to continue with. With Love Herman William Tripp--Remembering----
