Notes Isabel3 Tripp's father died in 1730 when she was only 17 years old. His will mentions her as Isabel3 Tripp, indicating she was unmarried at the time. (Will/James2) A Rhode Island Vital Record for Tiverton states that on March 19, 1730 Alexander Blowers and a woman named Isabel Tripp filed intentions to marry in Tiverton, and on April 4, 1730 they were married by Job Almy, Justice. (RI/VE) However two Isabel Tripps were alive at that time. Does this marriage refer to Isabel3 Tripp (James2, John1) or Isabel4 Tripp (John3, John2, John1) from Tiverton? Bock suggests it was more likely Isabel4 Tripp whose parents were John3 (John2, John1) and Mary Hart from Tiverton. (Bock) Isabel4 (John3, John2, John1) was 29 and Isabel3 (James2, John1) was 17 in 1730 when the marriage took place. On October 13, 1740 Alexander Blowers purchased two acres on the ninth lot in Tiverton for 36 pounds. On May 14 1741 he purchased another 14 acres. Both properties were on the Tiverton/Dartmouth line. (Mass/LR/V34-1) Considering age and location, either Isabel Tripp could have been the one who married Alexander. Then on August 18, 1746 Alexander and Isabel (Tripp) Blowers sold their 15 acre homestead, part of the ninth lot on the Dartmouth border line. (Mass/LR/V34-2) Alexander and Isabel removed to Dutchess County, New York by 1753. They leased a 184 acre farm in lot 6 in Beekman Patent. (SBP/II) Isabel4 Tripp’s (John3, John2, John1) brother, Richard4 Tripp, removed to Dutchess, New York, but so did two of Isabel3 Tripp’s (James2, John1) brothers. (SBP/XIV) So again this information does not indicate which Isabel married Alexander. The Blowers Family chapter in “The Settlers of the Beekman Patent”, lists Alexander and Isabel Blowers children as: Charles b. 1736, Mary, Alexander Jr. b. c. 1740, and Hart Blowers. (SBP/II) Using her mother’s maiden name for a son strongly supports that Isabel4 Tripp, daughter of John3 (John2, John1) and Mary Hart from Tiverton, is the one who married Alexander Blowers. So the last record we have about Isabel3 is from her father’s will. The will of James2 Tripp, was proven July 21, 1730. Son, Francis3 Tripp, was to pay to his sisters, Lydia3 Tripp, Thankful3 Taylor, and Isabel3 Tripp, 10 pounds each. (Will/James2)
