  Rufus Elmer Owens was hoping to get to Idaho were jobs were easier to get. He and his brother Houston were hopping trains to get there. The last time Houston saw Elmer, he had motioned for Houston to get into a railroad car, but he could not make it, so took another one. When the train reached Idaho, Houston could not find Elmer anywhere. Elmer's body was later found on another train track in which they did not travel on. He was most likely robbed and thrown from the train.
