    From the following deed, we see that Richard Tripp was in Epsom New Hampshire by November 1757 and married Ann/Agnas McClary by May 25, 1762. Richard Tripp of Epsom, yeoman, bought 60 acres of land in Allentown, near Epspsom town line, on November 2, 1757 from Theodore Atchinson of Portsmouth for 5s; Recorded December 9, 1757 (54:551). On May 25, 1762, Richard Trip of Epsom, husbandman, for L1000, sold to Andrew Smyth and Daniel and Daniel Evans, both of Allen's Town, 60 acres part of Lot 7. Recorded May 29, 1762. Agness Treep signed release on May 25, 1762 as wife of Richard Trip of her dower rights. Recorded June 5, 1762 (65:303-5). On April 22 1762, Abram Libbee of Epsom sold for L500 to Richard Tripp of Allien's Town 1/2 right and title to land in Epsom lot #61, 106 acres. Recorded October 17 1765. John McClary, Justice of Peace (82:133-6). In 1764 he bought Lot #5 at a tax auction. In 1769 he was elected tythingman (Epsom Town Rec.). On July 6, 1763 Richard Treep of Epsom sold for L100 to Captain Andrew McClary of Epsom 1/2 of the right which Abram Libbe owned in Epsom, 106 acres. Recorded May 26, 1764. Witnesses: John McClary and Andrew McClary (70:483). On October 15, 1765, the heirs of Andrew McClary, Gentleman, late of Epsom, quitclaim to son Andrew McClary of Epsom; signed by Richard and Agnas Trip, Recorded October 17 1765 and rest of heirs (82:126-7). Richard from Portsmouth was called the original homesteader on the Short Falls farm from 1781. he built a sawmill a little above a gristmill (standing in 1909). His wife, was called sister of Major Andrew McClary of Epsom, was killed at the Battle of Bunker Hill. He was said to have been born in England (probable error), dates as 1720-1810; married Ann McClary 1760.

    He served as Corporal 1777 in Colonel Stephen Evans Regiment, New Hampshire line. He was called of Colonel Sanborn's Company at Bennington Battle September 9 1777 and in expedition to Rhode Island in Captain Joseph Parson's Company in Colonel Moses Nichols Regiment 1778 (New Hampshire Rev. Rolls F842.62a, 15:300,302,304,527).

This marriage is proved by the will of Mary Sisson, widow, of Dartmouth, Massachusetts, dated 15 April 1690, and proved 1 December 1692, in which she names her daughter Ann, wife of Peleg Tripp. [56] There is also recorded, a receipt, signed with the mark of Ann [Sisson] Tripp, and dated 17 December 1692, in which she acknowledges that she has received her mother's legacy.
