    Frank grew up in 71st township; was a vetran of World War 1 ambulance Co. #323-306th. He was in France when armistice was signed. Went to Peru, Chille, London, New Orleans, Washington, D.C. and did quite a bit of traveling during his life a as evidenced by letters to his mother. He was a traveling salesman until he opened Fayetteville Tire Co. with Mr. Parker. He later bought Mr. Parker out and went in business with his nephew Joe Rayor Jr. They changed the name to Raynor Supply Co. Has a picture of U.S.S. Manchuria (Merchant Marines?) . He was a devoted husband and father and long time member of Camp Ground Methodist Church in Fayetteville, N.C. and member of United Commercial Travelers, and the American Legion and 40 and 8. After his retirement he was the chairman of the building committee for the new Camp Ground Church, and he went to the church every day for a year to supervise construction.

    grew up on a tobacco farm in Winterville N.C. The first three years of her schooling were in a One room school house across from Reedy Branch Church. Went to a four room school house on Fried Meat Street to the 6th grade, amd to Wintervill High School from 7th to 11th , graduating May 8, 1925. She was in two plays in 9th and 11th grades and played an old lady in both. She weeded tobacco beds after school and during summers. She also pulled out suckers and worked in the barn to hahang leaves to cure ald also looped leaves. She canned tomatoes and washed oil lamps. She went to quilting parties and slept on a feather bed with a hand made quilt. Moved from Reedy Branch to new house in Winterville at age 10. Had cats, onone dog, hogs, chickens, geese . Picked her own feathers for the bed. Her brother McCoy was ten years older, her sister Mary Alvain born in 1902 died of diptheria at age four, and brother Jonny Leo born in 19ll, lived a long life. Went to East Carolina Teachers College in Greenville, N.C. from 1925 to 1929 and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in home economics. She wanted to major in Latin but McCoy's girlfriend talked her into home ec. She lived in 251 Flemming Dorm. She was bbaptized at Forbes Mill Pond and was a member of Winterville Free Will Baptist Church. Her mother died when she was 8. Effie's first job as at an orphanage in Middlesex as a diatitia, and at Sammercane Summer Camp, a home for wayward girls as a diatitian. She taught home ec at Eastover and lived in the teacherage for one year. Her friend Harper Tatum introduced hr to Frank Raynor. He drove a Chrysler Roadster. They married in a small ceremony at her home and they moved into a house on Branson Street in Fayetteville where Frank was living with his mother Sarah Margaret. After four years they moved to 109 Woodrow St. They built a house there on the foundation of his brother Joe's house which had burned down. They bought many acres of land which they later developed and in 1961 they moved to 507 Raynor Drive to a ranch house which Frank designed. They raised two children, Margaret and Frank. Effie was a devoted housekeeper and mother and member of Camp Ground Church. She was a vegetarian for the most part all her life and enjoyed good health. She always delighted in serving others, and would rather stay home and get the kitchen clean than go to a movie or party.
