    Notes:

1)Perigo [whom I rename John Perigo Tripp, Jan 1990, see note 6 below], Samuel, and Job information comes partly from: Wills, Vital Statistics #F Conn 10, pt 29 red serial #1453, p158. [note: Source notes, for above, somewhere in PLPLT ARCHIVES, Volume unknown.] Interesting, Perigo Tripp, 47, m Mrs.(note "Mrs") Polly Kress, 37, both of Bridgewater, Washtenaw, Mi, on 11 May 1840. I figure this is the same Perigo. The age matches, and that name! And, he is with his cousisin Thomas in Washtenaw County, Mich. [source: Charles Quick research, notes somewhere in PLT ARCHIVES.]

    2) Overseer of highways, Dist 21, Seneca Co, 1823" per Minutes of Junius Town Meeting 1803-1824, per PLT ARCHIVES, V21.

    3) Warren F. Tripp, is a descendent of Perigo. Per 12/89: Warren F. Tripp 8835 W 32 Ave Wheatridge, Colo 80033 303-233-6380

    4) Perigo immigrated from Seneca Co to Washtenaw Co, Mich, in the 1830's. In the 1840's he moved west to Hillsdale Co, and was in the 1850 and 1860 censuses there. He was in the 1820 and 1830 censuses in Junius and Tyre: per Warren Tripp Manuscript, in PLT ARCHIVES, V17.

    5) In 1837 Perigo [20289], 45, his brother Samuel [20290], 43, and their first cousin, Thomas [20017], 44, moved to Washtenaw County, Michigan. They brought their families (except Thomas' oldest children) and settled there with about a total of 15 to 18 children. Samuel and Thomas remained there, Perigo went west to Hillsdale County.

    6) Camille Myers states the IGI gives a "John P. Tripp and Clarissa Bigelow as parents of Samuel Tripp". I therefor added Samuel and note that Perigo's proper name is John Perigo Tripp. Camille also has potential other children of Perigo, which I am reluctant to accept without further review of sources: Hannah, b 1819; Louisa, b 1832; Elizabeth M. who married Edwin C. Russell [Elizabeth is daughter to Thomas and Nancy Tripp]; and Ellen and George. Ellen and George are possibly children of Perigo's second wife, which I note in that family notes, the first child. Camille's notes in PLT ARCHIVES, V17.

    7) Camille found Perigo's death record in Lenawee County. Age at death, 84y,8mo.

    8) Warren reports finding Perigo in 1870 census, July 20, 1870: Rollin Twp, Lenawee, Mich: Perigo, age 80, with son George (age 25) and George's wife Matilda.

"1850 and 1860 census showed Perigo with his 2nd wife, Mary Polly Kress, with two children, a daughter Ellen and son George E.", Warren reports.

John married Mary Polly Early on 11 May 1840 in Bridgewater, Washtenaw, Michigan, USA. Mary (daughter of James Early) was born about 1803 in Delaware, USA; died on 12 Dec 1863 in Rollin, Lenawee, Michigan, USA; was buried on 12 Dec 1863 in Wheatland, Hillsdale, Michigan, USA. 5. 13.  Mary Polly Early was born about 1803 in Delaware, USA (daughter of James Early); died on 12 Dec 1863 in Rollin, Lenawee, Michigan, USA; was buried on 12 Dec 1863 in Wheatland, Hillsdale, Michigan, USA.

    Other Events and Attributes:

    • Residence: 1850, Wheatland, Hillsdale, Michigan, USA
    • Residence: 1860, Wheatland, Hillsdale, Michigan, USA

    Notes:

Marriage data taken from Marriages, 1827-57, Washtenaw Co, Mich, published 1961. She was 37, and named MRS. Polly Kress, meaning she was formerly married to Mr. Kress.

Per "Doll Index", notice, 1/1/1838, in Michigan Argus stating "Polly Tripp" had a letter at Saline PO awaiting her since July 6, 1837. However, this Polly is NOT the person because she became Polly Tripp in her 1840 marriage. So, THERE'S ANOTHER POLLY TRIPP? Indeed, there is, its Thomas' daughter, Rachel Polly Tripp, ID20236, who would very logically be in Saline with her father Thomas, and who certainly is the subject of the letter.

    2) We have a George Tripp who married Matilda L. Smith, who is the son of Perigo. This must be a later marriage of Perigo, after the marriage to Polly Kress, or maybe Matilda L. Smith IS Mrs. Polly Kress. George Tripp, b 1845, apparently has a sister, Ellen, b 1843, who are both apparently children of Perigo.

This needs clarification by my source on this, Camille Myers, per Camille Myers Notes, PLT ARCHIVES, V17. Address, per 1990, for Camille: Myers, Camille 13180 Co Rd 14-2 Wauseon, Ohio 43567 419 335 5111
