    Barbara Tripp discovered a record from a Mason Book in south Haven, Michigan that Samuel A. Tripp was educated in Albion and Rochester New York. In 1869 he moved to South Haven, Michigan. He clerked in a store owned by his brother Samuel. He returned to Rochester for more schooling, then moved to Kibbie, Michigan where he bought 160 acres. In 1869 he started the Kibbie Telephone Company.

    Alvah Tripp, when he was 18, went from Delaware County, New York with his knapsack on his back and upon seeing a girl at a well, he asked for a drink. He mentioned he was going to the "far West" (Albion) to make a home and would make one for her if she would wait for him, which she did.
