    Jonathan Wiley Tripp served in the Civil War from North Carolina and has a Civil Civil War Marker on his grave in the Cemetery in Wynnewood, Oklahoma. This was provided by the veterans administration in Washington, D. C. on evidence provided by his great grandson Robert C. Tripp. Oklahoma did not become a State until 1907. Jonathan was a carpenter; he served as a private in Company K, 445h Regiment, Noth Carolina Infantry, CSA and was a prisoner of war from April 4 1865 to June 21 1865 at Point Lookout, Maryland; family moved to near Sewanee, Franlin County Tennessee in 1869; moved to near Waldron, Scott County, Arkansas, in 1876; Jonathan married second in about 1901 a widow by the name of Seahorn.     Aaron Tripp was a carpenter. He moved with his family from Orange County, North Carolina to Lincoln County, Tennessee, betwen 1850 and 1852. (1). Orange County, North Carolina, marriage bond dated 24 Feb 1829; William Andrews and John J. Carrington were bondsmen (page 308, Brent H. Holcomb, Marriages of Orange County, North Carolina, 1779-1868. Genealogical Publishing Co. Baltimore, 1983).

    Aaron Tripp is listed in the 1830 US Census of Orange County, Norht Carolina.

    Aaron Tripp was a member of the Sandy Field Baptist Church in Orange County, North Carolina. He wa a delegate to meetings of the Sandy Creek Baptist Association during the period 1835-1840. Elder Levi Andrews, George Andrews, Archibald Andrews were also delegates. (A History of Sandy Creek Baptist Association).

    Aaron Tripp is listed in the 1840 US Census of Orange County, North Carolina.

    Orange Co NC Deeds 1842-1844, page 310, records a indenture dated 8 Jan 1841 between Laban Andrews and Aaron Tripp for 90 acres of land on Hogpin Branch of Collins Creek and joining Thomas Cates, Thomas D. Oldham, and others. Aaron Tripp paid $130 for the land; the deed was witnessed by George W. Purefy and Thomas D. Oldam.

    On 10 Jul 1841 Aaron Tripp sold this same 90 acres to Thomas D. Oldham for $110 (Orange Co NC Deeds 1842-1844, page 470).

    The will of Laban Andrews was proven in the May 1842 Term of the Orange County, North Carolina, County Court. Elizabeth Tripp is named as one of the children and Aaron Tripp is identified as a son-in-law. (page 195, Ruth Herndon Shields, "Abstracts of Wills Recorded in Orange County, North Carolina, 1800-1850"; originally published in 1966 as Volume II, reprinted by the Genealogical Publishing Co, Baltimore, 1972 and 1979 as Abstracts of Wills of Orange County, North Carolina, 1752-1850)

    On 12 Jun 1848, Aaron Tripp mortgaged to Thomas D. Oldam "my present crop of wheat, corn, oats, fodder" to secure debts to Wiatt Cates ($50) and David Andrews ($15). W. Thompson and Sidney Whitted were witnesses (Orange Co NC Deeds, Vol 33, 1841-1850, page 58).

    The 1850 US Census for Orange County, North Carolina, lists Aaron Tripp as a carpenter: all members of the family were born in North Carolina according to this list.

    On 15 Sep 1850, Aaron Tripp again mortgaged to Thomas D. Oldham his crops and three hogs to secure debts to Wyate Cates ($40), Cave Stroud ($30), and William Moore ($25). Thomas D. Faucette was the witness (Orange Co NC Deeds, Vol 33, 1841-1850, page 359.

    Aaron Tripp had died by the time of the 1870 US Census. Elizabeth was living with the family of her son J.W. Tripp in Franklin Co TN.

    (2). Orange Co NC marriage bond dated 7 Jan 1853; Enoch Sykes, bondsman; married 9 Jan 111853 by Wiatt Cate, Justice of the Peace (page 308, Brent H. Holcomb, Marriages of Orange County, North Carolina, 1779-1868, published by Genealogical Publishing Co, Baltimore, 1983).

    The 1860 US Census for Orange County, North Carolina, lists "Johnathan" Tripp as a carpenter; all members of the family were shown as being born in North Carolina.

    By the time of the 1870 US Census Jonathan was living in Franklin County, Tennessee. His occupation was again given as a carpenter; the family was living in District 1 and was listed as follows:

    The family had moved to Scott County, Arkansas, by the time of the 1880 US Census. Dortha M. and Bob Tripp of Mclean, Virginia, provided information on this line. Bob is a descendant of Jonathan W. Tripp (3). John J. Tripp wrotte a few notes of "events in my life" in 1936 when he was 67 years old. a typescript copy of these notes was provided by Dortha and Bob Tripp of McLean, Virginia. (4). John Crutchfield bought items at the sale of personal property of the estate of Eli Tripp on 22 apr 1865. The list filed by William Copeland on 4 Dec 1865 indicated that John Crutchfield also rented 26 acres of land belonging to the estate. (Page 137, Lincoln County Estate Sales 1862-1868). (5). "Angalin Tripp" (aged 20) with children Alis" (aged 3) and "Husten Powal" (aged 1) were listed in the household of "Monrow Powel (aged 45) and "Elisabeth" (his wife aged 42) in the 1870 US Census for Franklin County, Tennessee.

    ! He was a carpenter and lived west of Beaufort NC. He was listed in Orange Co. 1820-1850 and in Franklin Co. TN in 1860. He was a delegate in the Sandy Creek Baptist Church in 1835 and 1840 and also in Cedar Grove Baptist Church. (Linda Tripp to B.
