    !1)"There was a family bible in the inventory" Chas Quick says the probate record of his belongings, 1883, states. There was such in his father Jonathan's belongings, in 1820. Same bible? A search today for such could center on Robert, who stayed in Tyre. 1a)BENAJAH, AKA BENNIGER. (Earlier I kept two family groups for Benajah and Benniger, then concluded THEY ARE THE SAME PERSONS. THEIR CHILDREN MATCH TOO WELL TO BE A COINCIDENCE. I HAD BEEN PRONOUNCING BENAJAH "BEN-AHJ-UH" WHICH WAS DIFFERENT-SOUNDING FROM "BEN-I-JER". BUT IF YOU PRONOUNCE BENAJAH AS "BEN-i-ja" WITH THE EMPHASIS ON "BEN", THEN IT SOUNDS VIRTUALLY THE SAME AS "BEN-I-JER". THEREFORE, I AM MERGING THE TWO FAMILIES INTO ONE, AND NAMING THE FATHER "BENAJAH"..)

    2)Benajah fits ONLY as a son of Jonathan. Not for James(RIN551) not for William (RIN642). (Its possible Thomas (RIN669) is his father, but Thomas is not in Wash Co in 1800 or Seneca Co in 1810. THEREFORE, BY LOGIC, I PLACE HIM AS A CHILILD OF JONATHAN'S. OTHER NOTES:

    4))A Death record gives Benajah F. Tripp, d 12/5/1850, aged 22, (buried) 0Dutch Reformed Church cemetery, who I assign as his child.

    5)1830 CENSUS "Benniger" gives him 3 sons, 2 daughters, an extra adult male aged 30-40, perhaps an older brother o or brother-in-law, aged about 35; and his wife, aged 20 to 30.

    6)1840 Census gives: BENAJAH 1 2 0 1 0 0 1 0 1 - 1 1 1 1 0 1.

    7)1850 Census gives: "BENAJAH 53, farmer 3600 acres, J.M. 48, M.K. 24/F; B.J. 22/M; R.H. 20/M; E.J. 19/F; S.M. 15/M/M; W.J. 7/M; born N.Y." These names match up perfectly with the Petition, above. I wonder if Benajah had some reason not to trust the enumerater, and gave initials rather than names?

    8)1880 CENSUS, TYRE: Shows "Benniger", 81; mary, 62; Robert, 50; Adaline "dau-in-law", 50; William Gethel, 8, grandson.

    9)History of Seneca County, NY, 1876, p. 168, gives his date of settlement as 1806, his post office address as Magee's Corners, business "Farmer and Stock Raiser", spells his name "Benajer", PLT ARCHIVES V17.

    10)Russ Quimby, 916-366-1869, is a descendent of Benajah: Russell Wayne Quimby 9968 Lincoln Village Drive Sacramento, California 95827

    11)"He lies in burial plot, Reformed Church with his wife Jane M. and several children. . . There were three BENAJAHs, the earliest born 1791" so says Valentine, page 173.

    Her ordinance work done under the name JANE TRIP, per patron notification dated about 1988. !1) Her name given to me by Virginia Lewis as "Bonnell", but her maiden name given to me by Charlaine Enquist, through Jancee Beebe, of Brighton, Mich, as O'Dell. I accept Bonnell, because I believe Jonathan married Olive O'Dell, who had a brother, BENAJAH ODELL, per Seneca Co History of 1876, and therefore named her son BENAJAH TRIPP. If Jane Mary were O'Dell, it would be an impossible coincidence she had a Brother, Benajah O'Dell, and a husband, Benajah Tripp. 2)It would fit that she were the daughter of Nathaniel Bonnell (ID#20352), who has two daughters marry two sons of James, elsewhere on this computer system. And now, possibly, he has a third daughter, Jane Mary, who marries still another Tripp. This is a sign that the two families liked one another a lot, and must have thought highly of one another.

    Bock: Jonathan Tripp is listed in Queensbury Town, Washington County, New York in 1790 with 1 male overe 16 and 1 female and in 1800. Jonathan of Queensbury, Washington County purchased land in Junius in 1806, signed by his brother James Tripp who was known to be son of William of Queensbury. In 1823, some disputed land owned by Jonathan in Lots 20 and 34 was returned to his widow Olive. He was killed in his own sawmill while attempting repairs and was not discovered until the next day.

    Analysis of Census Data shows that he had 8 children, 4 males and 4 females.

    Rachel is positively identified, and other children seem to include Thomas, Benejah (who lived on Lot 20- and Asa. (Valentine [see William 134] [Benejah's will on p. 115;

Most of the children were born in Tiverton, but it is inferred that the mother died before the removal (to Queensbury) William settled on the Half Way Brook not so far west of Glen Falls, NY. William and his son Jonathan held each 125 acreres of land, which was released from Quit Rents after the Revolutionary War, because of their losses at the hands of the Indians and the Tories; all improvements having been burned. Both farms were on Lot Eleven. Local records are very few, for this reason: But at the old Salem of that county, high among its snowy hills, in midwinter, I was so fortunate as to find the will of this William. In Tiverton I found his yellowed deed of sale." Valentine, p177-8. 3)"Most of the children" per Valentine, suggests there were more than the three sons, which would be more ordinary. Nathaniel: "of Waterloo". 2)History of Seneca County, page 81 states Nathaniel Bonnell lived on the southwest part of lot 66, the same lot as James Tripp, and that "Nathaniel Bonnell did not farm, but probably hired his field-work." The same page states there is a Charles and H.S. Bonnell, and "prior to 1840" a Henry Bonnell. 3)5/89: Page 12 of Valentine "Bonnell" book, gives will of a Nathan Bonnell, which names his son Nathaniel. Lots of stuff there. 4)I conclude Nathaniel is a brother to Henry, but only by association in the same area.
