(RI IGI; Randall, James Tripp 12,19; DAR Patriots Index 688; 1777 military census in RI ROOTS shows Robert Tripp in West Greenwich, 16-50, able to bear arms).

    From 1781-1783 Robert was a member pf Colonel Edward Jessop's Corp of Loyal Rangers. By 1783 Robert and his wife and child were at the Riviere du Chene Loyalist settlement in Canada. Later he received land in the Gaspe, Canada where many of descendants remain today.

Greenwich RI to Stephentown New York ca 1769 (Letter wr by Arthur Tripp, 8-30-1917), although the 1777 military census from RRI ROOTS shows a Giden, age 16-50, able to bear arms in West Greenwich. In 1790, he was listed in Stphentown, Albany County, New York with 4 males over 16 and 2 females (census). He rem to Nassau, Rensselaer County New York from RI and engaged in farming and milling. He was Justice of Peace form many years (Portrait and Biographical Album of Ingham and Livingston Counties [Chicago 1891] 849-50.
