    Peleg Douglass enlisted as a volunteer soldier of our war of Independence in 1776 New York Militia.

    He remained there through 1777, 1778, 1779, 1780, and 1781. At one time held the rank of Sargent.
    He purchased land in Chateaugay New York on November 16, 1798. It is said that he lived to be 100.
    Pension claim Peleg Douglas R. 3048 May 1 1833 applied open court. He served under Captain Chamberlain, Captain Herick, and Captain Salisbury.
