In the past individuals could send queries to me and I would post them on this page. But I have decided that individuals could gain a lot more exposure for their query by posting it at the Tripp Surname Message Board or the Tripp Family Genealogy Forum.
September 8, 2001 Hello my name is Kelly Reeves. I am trying to gather information on a N.C. Tripp. I recently found a watercolor at a Westport, MA yard sale. It is of an gentleman on a chesnut saddle bred (or other gaited horse breed). It is signed N.C. Tripp in the lower right corner. That’s all I know. The picture is beautifully done and I thought perhaps someone would know a Tripp by those initials who was an artist. I love horses and would like to know more about the person and maybe the horse. Thank you! [jdgorma@worldnet.att.net]

Dec. 28, 2000 Anne Harper My Trippe is spelled with an “e” but I hope I can still post to this list since spelling doesn’t count in genealogy. I’m looking for any information on my gg-grandfather, Jessee E. Trippe. All I know is that he was a medical doctor, is listed on the 1850 Lauderdale Co., MS, Census. His wife, Mary and their daughters, Jessie (my g-grandmother) and Sarah show up on the 1860 Choctaw Co., AL census living with Mary’s brother H.E. Ryan. There is no mention of Jessee Trippe, so I’m assuming he died between 1850 and 1860. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

My grandfather was Joshua TRIPP, b ca 1805, Pitt Co, NC; d May 1870, Pitt Co, NC. This is the Caleb TRIPP whom I’m tracing: Caleb TRIPP, b ca 1732, Newport, RI > Caleb’s father, Othniel TRIPP, b Mar 22, 1706/7, Washington, RI > Othniel’s father, Othniel TRIPP, b Jun 5, 1676, Newport, RI > Othniel’s father, John TRIPP, b ca 1640, Newport, RI > John’s father, John TRIPP, b 1610, Coveton, Lincolnshire, England; d 1768, Portsmouth, Newport, RI I will be grateful for any information that may help me to connect Caleb to Joshua, or point me in another direction if Caleb isn’t Joshua, Sr.’s father. I am organizing a TRIPP reunion for August 5 and would really love to have this information for this year’s reunion.
