Wylie Pope (1758-1808) served as private with General Clark at Kettle Creek, Wilkes County, Ga. He was born in Jones County; died in Wilkes County, Ga.

William Hurt received a grant of land for service as a soldier in the Georgia Line. He was born in North Carolina; died, 1812, in Hancock County, Ga.

[p.255] Elias Carpenter (1761-1851) was with the first troops that entered Yorktown after the surrender. He was placed on the pension roll of Orange County, Vt., 1831, for service as private in the Connecticut Continental Line. He was born and died in Strafford, Vt.
