In a message dated 98-05-30 06:23:00 EDT, you write:

<< My conclusion is -- this John Trippatt, (b. ca. 1618) , who went to Bermuda on the Truelove in 1635, is not John Tripp, (b. ca. 1610), who m. Mary Paine. >>

Roger,

Not sure what access you have to ship records, but according to the statement

of John Tripp he may have come over with Frances East, unless John was sold to Jafra and sent over by himself.  Just curious to see if there is a ship record for either of these two gentlemen.

I bound myself to owe Frances East for 4 pounds a year for 4 years who sold me and I had served him and his assign for about a year and a half.  He sold me to Robert Jafra (Jeffery?) then living in Boston

Not sure where the record of Truelove came from.  I think the Hall connection

was made on speculation, but strange that neither one came on the Truelove.  I have not spent anytime looking into this, but glad you were able to locate the manifest to show the error.
